Instant speed boost step two:

Well, maybe not so ‘instant’ – it requires a little work.

Go to start menu, then control panel. Then double click ‘Add or Remove Programs’.

If your computer is at a snails pace, it will take a while for the content to load (“list is being populated”).

Now, scroll down this list, and uninstall everything you don’t use, or don’t need. But only things that you actually installed – nothing crucial to the system

Tip: If you want to get rid of every last trace of a program you don’t want installed any more, use ‘revo uninstaller’, available free from download.com.

You won’t experience any massive speed boosts from this step, but in conjunction with the other tips, it’s very worthwhile.
